Ecological & Economical Gift Wrapping Ideas for your Handmade Christmas Goodies
So, you’ve been lovingly making sumptuous soaps, beautiful bath bombs and other gorgeous body treats for your friends and family. Now it’s time to turn them into something extra special by thinking about the presentation. A little extra time here really does make all the difference when you present your gift, and it doesn’t need to cost a great deal. Have a rummage at home and you might surprise yourself with how easily you can gather together bits of ribbon, buttons, coloured paper. You can also collect botanical flourishes like conifer and holly whether you live in the country or city.
I’ve been hunting around, gathering some inspirational ideas to share with you, and it seems to me that keeping it rustic is a great approach – think brown paper, string, ribbons, calligraphy and botanical touches.
Practical Point
There is so much scope for pretty presentation, but it is really important to get the practical side of 
the packaging right as well. Soaps and bath bombs need to be protected from humidity and loss of aroma, so we recommend using a shrink wrap bag, first to keep your product fresh and in tip top condition. Don’t worry – cellophane is biodegradable, so you won’t be adding to our planet’s plastic problem!
In addition, it is important to label your product properly, even for friends and family. They need to know what the item is, how to use it, and its ingredients. Getting Creative
For the outer wrapper, I personally love a classic brown paper wrap with a band giving all the information you need. If you want to take it a step further, then what about using sealing wax far a classy finish.
A little strip of burlap tied with natural string is also a nice way to finish the package off, giving your item a more rustic look.
Ribbons are a great way to add a splash of colour and can be used to tie on tags, mini baubles or seasonal sprigs of conifer or holly.
Tricky Customers!
It’s one thing to beautifully wrap a nice, square soap, but what about those trickier customers? A round bath bomb or bag of wax tart melts presents more of a challenge!
I particularly love this simple, yet incredibly effective idea, for dressing up a humble paper bag – a fantastic way to upcycle items that you probably already have at home, and very versatile for wrapping many different items.
For spherical bath bombs, these two ideas really stood out to me. I always associated chocolate oranges with Christmas, so decided to create a bath bomb that mimics this festive treat. Our customers loved

Another idea is to turn your bath bomb into a tree decoration using a scrap of left-over fabric, cellophane or wrapping paper.
