Coriander Seed Essential Oil

General Description: Coriander is an annual plant with fine feathery leaves, pink flowers and round green seeds which are pressed for the oil and ground for the spice. It is used in many cultures as a food flavouring and was found in Tutankhamun’s tomb where it is believed it was used as an aphrodisiac by the ancient Egyptians. The oil has a medium strength initial aroma, very much like the familiar spice. Botanical Family: Umbelliferae

Commonly associated with:Stimulant, warming. May feel slightly numbing on the skin. Good for tired muscles and joints. Massage into the abdomen to maintain a feeling of easy digestion. Use to combat feelings of tiredness and muscle tension in the head and neck.

Using Your Oil Safely & Effectively

• Keep out of the reach of children and animals
• Always dilute before applying to the skin. The safe percentage is different for each oil so should be checked.
• Do not take internally – whilst there is scope for the internal use of essential oils, this should only be done by a trained practitioner.
• Keep away from the eyes and seek medical advice if undiluted essential oil gets in the eye
• Remember, essential oils are potent and only a little is needed
